Indeed - not many of those conversations around that we can afford to spread them so thin.

Well... obviously. If there was a valid, commonly understood reason to build ourselves a website, you'd think we'd have one already. There's no shortage of talent or, as is apparent, volunteers. We only seem to be lacking in legitimate concerns here. The functionality that's already been suggested isn't anything we can't use our personal websites for (or set one up in like 2 nights).

When I made the call, I was really hoping for an out-there idea, some "what if" by a developer that might only be feasible if we combined our collected resources, something impressive or really silly (or both), something to be able to tell others and be proud of the group you belong to about. An online game, a new product, a useful, novel application? I don't think the web *needs* another blog.

Now, I'm not evangelising as I haven't come up with such an idea. It's just what I'd ideally like this group to engage with so I'll keep looking for one. Meanwhile, I meant it when I offered to build the whole thing. I come through with the projects I choose and don't "drop the ball" (who does that?) My last project was ICHEC (before the hyperlinks started overflowing their DIVs like weeds over cracked walls) so I'm looking for a new challenge. Setting up Drupal isn't exactly what I hoped for.

More off-the-beaten-track ideas anyone?

Please?
