Ibuildings are holding a PHP seminar on the 10th September, 9.30am -
1pm, at Temple Bar Hotel, Dublin, with lunch following presentations
and discussions. The event will be an intimate seminar, for just a few
attendees.

Ibuildings has invited Ivo Jansch, CTO and leading PHP expert, to
share his experiences on Enterprise PHP. In this presentation, Ivo
talks about the three major challenges that PHP development teams face
nowadays. The first challenge is that good PHP developers are
increasingly hard to find. To grow the team is no longer a simple
matter of adding new developers. Instead, we have to look at ways to
make the existing team more productive. The second challenge is
maintaining code. Once a project is complete, it is usually not over.
If maintenance is not done properly, valuable time can be lost, and
new projects will be negatively influenced by interruptions from
existing projects. The third challenge is scale. An application is
running smoothly, until all of a sudden your site is mentioned on one
of the popular blogs or featured on TV. If scalability is not tackled
right from the start, the site will go down from the load, and what
could have been your 15 minutes of fame turns into 15 minutes of
shame.

During this talk, Ivo will cover procedures and tools to cope with
these challenges, to get a better website in less time. We will also
be showcasing some of the Zend products.
