Hey folks,
Somehow, as a representative of our PHP User Group, I got co-opted into
this: it's a conference scheduled for the end of February and will focus
on Web Technologies. The PHP, Python, Ruby and MS Tech user groups have been
asked to help collaborate with the organisers and help make this a memorable
event.
So please pencil the given dates below into your diary and don't be afraid to
speak up if you have any ideas
regards
Ken

Hi Ken
Barry here from IrishDev.com.
It was very good to meet you on Wednesday.
Just to recap on our conversation.
IrishDev.com are hosting the Irish Web technology Conference on 26-29th
February 2008. The conference will form part of our IxTC Series 2008, and
will be a multi track, multi session event held in the Big Screens of the
Cineworld Complex on Dublins Parnell Street.
The provisional tracks ( http://iwtc.firstport.ie/holding/post.aspx?id=7 )
include two tracks of developer technologies. Our aim is to keep the
sessions fairly generic in so far as making them of interest to a wide
group of developers regardless of the languages they may use.
We'd like the PHP group to collaborate on the conference with us and the
other user communities by.....
1) suggesting what these sessions might be, and who might be suitable as a
speaker.
2) promoting the conference online and via the user group
3) helping out at the conference (if requested)
4) to man a PHP User Group at the conference
5) there's bound to be something!
In consideration IrishDev.com will......
1) promote the PHP User Group on its websites
2) provide 5 full entrance tickets to the event
3) provide 2 invites to a special conference lunch
4) provide exhibition space
5) include the PHP user group as an associate on all online and offline
collateral
6) depending on the success and the participation of the conference and
user group participation, provide funding for the purpose of future PHP
meetups.
